Personalizing ThrivaOS
Section titled “Personalizing ThrivaOS”ThrivaOS doesn’t have to look institutional. Children can personalize their Focused Mode environment with themes, backgrounds, and preferences that make the space feel like their own.
Why Personalization Matters
Section titled “Why Personalization Matters”When children have a say in their environment:
- It feels less like punishment, more like their space
- They take ownership of the experience
- Focused Mode becomes something they shaped
- Small touches make big differences in attitude
Theme Options
Section titled “Theme Options”Pre-Made Themes
Section titled “Pre-Made Themes”Thriva includes curated themes:

| Space | Dark mode with stars and planets |
| Forest | Greens and nature imagery |
| Minimal | Clean whites and subtle grays |

- Background image/color
- Button and accent colors
- Icon style
- Font choices
- Overall mood
Changing Themes
Section titled “Changing Themes”From ThrivaOS (Children)
Section titled “From ThrivaOS (Children)”- Click the settings gear in ThrivaOS
- Select Appearance
- Browse available themes
- Click to preview
- Click Apply to use
From Parent Portal (Parents)
Section titled “From Parent Portal (Parents)”- Go to child’s profile
- Click ThrivaOS Settings
- Choose Appearance
- Select theme or upload custom background
Custom Backgrounds
Section titled “Custom Backgrounds”Daily Backgrounds
Section titled “Daily Backgrounds”Thriva can show a different inspiring background each day:
- Nature photography
- Space images
- Artwork
- Motivational scenes
Enable in Appearance → Daily Backgrounds
Personal Photos
Section titled “Personal Photos”Upload a family photo or favorite image:
- Go to Appearance → Background
- Click Upload Custom
- Select an image file
- Adjust positioning if needed
Note: Parents can review and approve custom backgrounds
Sound and Audio
Section titled “Sound and Audio”Focus Sounds
Section titled “Focus Sounds”Some children concentrate better with ambient audio:
- Rain sounds
- White noise
- Lo-fi music
- Nature ambiance
Enable in Appearance → Sounds
Notification Sounds
Section titled “Notification Sounds”Customize sounds for:
- Task reminders
- Messages received
- Mode changes approaching
- Task completion celebration
Dashboard Layout
Section titled “Dashboard Layout”Widget Arrangement
Section titled “Widget Arrangement”Children can organize their dashboard:
- Move widgets around
- Resize sections
- Hide elements they don’t use
- Add quick-access shortcuts
What’s Customizable

- Calendar visibility
- App shortcuts on home screen
- Clock style and size
Per-Device Settings
Section titled “Per-Device Settings”If a child uses multiple devices, personalization can differ:
- School laptop might be more minimal
- Home computer can be more personalized
- Different themes for different contexts
Each device remembers its own settings.

Seasonal Themes
Section titled “Seasonal Themes”Thriva offers special themes for:
- Back to school
- Halloween
- Winter holidays
- Spring/Summer
- Special events
These rotate automatically or can be selected manually.
Creating the Right Environment

Section titled “For Concentration”- Calming colors (blues, greens)
- Minimal clutter
- Nature imagery
- Soft ambient sounds
For Energy

- More visual elements
- Upbeat subtle audio
- Dynamic backgrounds
For Your Child
Section titled “For Your Child”Ask them what helps them focus. Some kids need calm; others need stimulation. There’s no wrong answer.
Resetting to Defaults
Section titled “Resetting to Defaults”If personalization gets overwhelming:
- Go to Appearance
- Click Reset to Default
- Start fresh with a clean theme
Sharing Between Siblings
Section titled “Sharing Between Siblings”If one child creates a great setup, parents can:
- Save the theme configuration
- Apply it to another child’s account
- Each child can then customize further
