How It Works on Windows
Section titled “How It Works on Windows”Thriva installs a background service that:
- Monitors the current mode for each linked child
- Enforces the Device Availability Plan automatically
- Switches interfaces based on mode:
- Free Time: Normal Windows desktop
- Focused Mode: ThrivaOS (fullscreen learning environment)
- Quiet Time: Logs out and disables the account
Shared Family Computers
Section titled “Shared Family Computers”Windows handles shared computers well:
- Each family member has their own Windows user account
- Parent accounts remain unaffected
- Each child’s schedule applies to their own login
- Switching users automatically applies the correct mode
Updates
Section titled “Updates”Thriva updates automatically:
- New versions download in the background
- Updates install when the computer restarts
- No manual action required
